“you know, now that i think about it, it’s really ridiculous for her to react that way. i mean, she’s visibly upset, but the father of her child has just been mortally wounded. is unintentional pregnancy really so egregious that it warrants such unabashed misanthropy? the man’s fingers are coiled in agony as his stick organs trickle blood onto the floor - a grim sight to behold - and yet she leaves him without pause, as his terrified eyes turn from dots to crosses. she even seizes the opportunity to make a joke, further exemplifying her callous attitude towards human life. who knows what her plans will be for the child she bears inside her stick womb? perhaps she doesn’t even plan to keep him - his tiny bow tie, barely formed, will be crushed and ripped away at the clinic, handled carelessly by latex gloves among blinding lamps and sterile whitewashed walls. and he will never have a name, or a home, or a first love. and this is the way the world ends, not with a bang, but a whimper.
